For the past few years I have been studying Nutrition Science-Dietetics at the
University of Minnesota and Baylor University. Upon graduating in May I originally
planned to further my education next fall. However, God has called me to
something different. Something honestly, I never imagined I would do. However,
His plans are so much better than my own. While I have always loved serving
God, the last few months I have prayed for him to use me in a greater way.
God has called me to join a small team to serve in 11 countries over 11 months
with The World Race. The World Race is a Christ-centered mission trip through
Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational missions organization that focuses
on discipleship and serving those in need both physically and spiritually.
I will face many challenges while serving in some of the poorest countries on
earth, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my initial challenges is raising
financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants
are required to raise funds. My team will depart for India on October 2nd of 2016, in
order to join them, I need to raise $10,000 by September 2016. After launch I will
need to raise an additional $6,961 for a total of $16,961. This money will cover all
of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip.
