Now I know it’s been a hot second since my last blog but now that I am on the field, I’m here and ready to tell all about my adventures!

I want to start with training camp. It was probably the longest, and fastest three days of my life. It was so good to finally meet my incredible team/sisters for the next three months. Training camp was exhausting but at the same time exhilarating! We learned so much that has already been so useful in our first week as a team. All the team building activities have already been put into use! And team time is my favorite! I appreciate the time the speakers put into training camp because we would all be a little lost without it!

Now our first week on the field was five times better! I felt so like myself! And so alive! We spent our first week completely tearing down and redoing the school here on campus. I got to use a machete so you know this girl here was happy! It was nothing but dirt, sweat, paint, and fun all week! As physically exhausted we all were, not a single one of us complained. We all laughed and loved each other the whole time!

We have also been staying in an orphanage and the kids here are so much fun! They have so much spunk and energy. They just go go go all day, every day! Getting to speak to them in their language has been such a privilege! I love it and I feel so connected to them. I can’t wait to see all the little adventures I have with the kiddos in the next three weeks I have here.

I want to finish off with giving a shout out to my leaders! They have been absolutely incredible! They deserve leader of the year award! They have been here for us on our bad days and our good days. They have been such wonderful friends and mentors to us. Thank you Ky and Kris!

And thank you Jesus for everything I’m already learning!

Week two here I come!
