Friends and Family,
As long as I can remember, I’ve always felt a strong compassion for others and a desire to help heal a hurting world, battle injustice, and be a helping hand to whoever needs it. It still blows me away that The World Race has provided me an amazing opportunity to do all of these things and be a small part of something so much greater than myself.
As I’ve been preparing for my trip spiritually, logistically, and financially, the latter has seemed to be the most difficult part of the process. While I know and believe that the Lord has called me to embark on this journey, and while I trust him to provide everything I need in order to follow him and answer his calling, it isn’t always easy to avoid feeling selfish as I prepare to ask others for financial assistance with a journey that I have chosen to take.
I continue to pray that God humbles me through this experience and reminds me of the greater purpose behind The World Race: His glory. IT ISN’T ABOUT ME. While I know that this trip will be an amazing, life changing experience, it remains at the forefront of my mind that it isn’t about me. I have been called to serve others and reflect the light and love of Jesus into the world for those that need it.
