(Motorbike filled streets of HCMC)
While in Mang Thit, we stayed with a family of farmers. It was a brick house with no air-conditioning, a lot of mosquitoes and bucket showers, but it was perfect. They had a rice field out back, fruit trees, rabbits, ducks, chickens, roosters, etc. Our host cooked amazing Vietnamese meals for us using their own rice and eggs.

I had the opportunity to go with our contact and translator to pray for a Buddhist military man who had cancer. After a 30 minute motorbike ride to their home we arrived just to find out we had missed him. He left to go to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment. A little disappointed we sat down with his wife to drink some coffee. Little did we know God had different plans, a divine appointment.

That evening we got to share God, His love and His son with her. God used us to introduce himself to her. She shared that she only knew Buddha before but now she also knows Jesus and that she was filled with joy because of His presence and love. She expressed that she couldn’t leave Buddhism because of the obligation she had to pray for her husband’s relatives. She prayed with us and asked God that she may know Him more and thanked Him for His power and love.
A HUGE seed was planted that evening over some coffee.
My heart was filled with joy and excitement.
It always amazes me how doing God’s work not only blesses others but also blesses us.
I pray that others will come to water the seed and that soon God will grow it.
