You know those days where you wake up and you're simply excited to love Jesus and serve Him throughout the day? Or when you have this passion to glorify Him, knowing that these are the only days that have true purpose? I’ve been having a lot of these types of days, but many times a couple of days will go by and this won’t be the reality and so I began to ask the question that many Christians ask, which is, What if we would live this way every day? What if every day we would live intentionally seeking after God with all our heart, soul, and strength? The Kingdom things that happen as a result are incredibly powerful, because God sees a worthy vessel in which to use. Not to say that God will never use an ass, because we see in scripture that He actually uses one of those literally to bring about His plan and purpose. BUT when walking in this intentionality you begin to think the way God thinks, and you begin to have the heart of your Father’s. You begin to have “great ideas” about your life and the lives around you, but then you wake up the next day or a couple days after and that intentionality is blocked by the sin of our complacency or whatever sin it may be and those great ideas become, well, merely “great ideas” . But what if we became men and women that didn’t just have good ideas but lived lives that were those great ideas? Kingdom things would happen, God would be glorified through our lives, His favor would always be upon us, and His destiny for our lives would actually become a destiny and not just dreams. Needless to say, God has been speaking directly to my heart in this area. I’ve been walking with God now for 7 years and the “Rock” is starting to become a little harder to move. He is preparing me to stand firm and actually live out this life and learn not to be a wave of the sea, that many Christians become.
We went to a drug rehab center where we got the chance to take the guys on a hike up this mountain that overlooked the ocean. It was unbelievably beautiful! The reason we hiked up to this place was to show them the soon to be built location of the new rehab center. We sat in the unfinished building and worshipped God with these 3 men. The ages of the men were 18, 29, 38. There was a guitar in this room and they asked me to lead us in some worship so we began to pray for the future rehab center and the grounds of it. As we were praying I was strumming some tunes asking the Holy Spirit to give me a song for the men. Literally 30 seconds prior to prayer ending and worship starting, God gave me Amazing Grace my Chains Are Gone and it was perfect. Through this song we proclaimed our testimony, being that Jesus has broken the chains of Death and has given us LIFE through His Son Jesus! After worshipping through this song the Holy Spirit was SO present. He put it on my heart to speak into these three guy’s lives in a very powerful way. I knew in that moment that it was no longer me talking, but the Power of Christ speaking through me. I told a 39 year old boy, who gets to see his unsaved wife and child once a week that one day he will lead his wife and child to come to know Jesus. These men experienced the presence of God is a real way and were encourage by it. I truly believe that if I wasn’t in tune with God and being connected to Him, He wouldn’t have shown up in the way He did.
The question once again arises with, what if we would remain connected to the father (John 15) on an every day basis? See, this is Satan’s whole purpose and that’s to keep us unconnected to the Father. He wants to take the fight out of us and crush it. Stand firm! Lets realign ourselves under the headship of Jesus and begin to watch Him produce fruit in us! To be apart of what God is doing is far from boring. I feel that Christianity has become boring to so many people, but it’s all because we aren’t allowing Him to show us His incredible purpose for our lives.
I’m sorry it’s been so long since me (Jeremy) have written a blog. Thailand was a very complacent month for me and through that month God has taught me many things through it. My goal through my blogs is to first share to you my heart and where I am with my thinking while being on the race. And secondly, to encourage you and challenge you in your own walk with Jesus. And Hey, if you don’t know Him, He is more than worth the giving of your life.
Love all you guys!
