What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Intentional Living”? Do you hear “living” or just “intentional”? Or do you hear the voice of an old lady telling you not to eat a certain food over the person talking directly to you. It’s almost as if we like the idea of listening to people, but we do not want to listen to them because we know they are right. We want to be right and we want to be heard, but we don’t want to listen. The comments we make are for the sole purpose of being in control, we give advice to show that we have our stuff together. We seem to live in a world where we want have a conversation with others, but we don’t want to listen to them. We just want to share how we feel, so that we can be the person who profoundly helped someone out. We want to be the ones with all the answers, and yet we don’t know what we want for lunch most days.
I feel like the last month in Chile has been teaching me how to be a person who wants to truly live life intentionally. I want to be a person who listens and answers if I am asked to answer, but I don’t want to be the person who always say “I feel like” or “I think” and be the giver of lame, meaningless advice. We all have great advice, but great advice to someone who isn’t looking for advice is just bad advice. It is bad because it doesn’t help out when it needs to. It only makes you feel like you are living profoundly.
It makes me want to start living a life where I am intentional with the conversations I have, the advice I give, and the way I see life. Stepping out into the world with the purpose of recognizing the people around us andgiving credit to the people behind the scenes putting in so much work no one physically sees. Going out and making the most of each day we live because a day is a gift and we need to make each day better than the day before. Intentionally watch what we say to someone before we speak. Intentionally living is a great way to start living a fulfilling and purposeful life.
Until next time………….Enjoy

We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. And as for you brothers, never tire of doing what is right. 2 Thessalonians 3:11-13
