1 month down and I can’t even begin to explain how much God is working.

My time in South Africa was challenging, beautiful, humbling, eye opening, amazing, vulnerable and so much more. These are just a few words to describe it. Time went by so slow yet so fast. I have a feeling that’s going to be a theme this year.

I’ve learned so much already:

1. A hunger for God is so much better than any other type of hunger I know.

2. Everyone has been gifted by God in different ways. We all have a unique part in furthering His Kingdom.

3. Vulnerability is not weakness (still working on it)

4. My mind is not my flaw but my strength.

5. Don’t judge a place by its appearance.

6. It’t not hard to love on strangers.

7. God knows your weakness and He meets you in that place.

8. Comparison is the thief of joy.

9. The Lord’s silence is not indifference. Instead He is romancing in the silence.

10. The shepherd will never stop pursuing the 1.

I’ve also learned:

1. When there is guacamole always be first in line or else you get none.

2. Always watch your step. You never know when there will be a flat rat.

3. If you wear Chacos… a Chaco tan line is inevitable.

4. An impromptu day trip to Cape Town is a must.

5. Working out at 6 am is so worth it when it’s in Africa.

6. I am definitely a travel junkie.

7. Spotify Premium is totally worth it.

8. I’m way too competitive when it comes to Spicy Uno.

9. I never want to eat a PB&J ever again.

10. It is possible to live out of a backpack. (Then again ask me again in 10 months ;))

One more day of debrief and then my squad is off to our second country, Zimbabwe. Keep us in your prayers as we take a 20 hr bus ride to our next ministry site.

I’m excited for our next adventure and to see in what ways God will show up! Thank you for all your prayers and your constant support.

Talk to you soon,
