Hello! My name is Teagan Amanda Bencsics (pronounced Ben-sis). I am by no means a writer and have never blogged or been into journaling, so bear with me!
School
I am currently a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University. I absolutely adore my school and how much it has deepened my faith. I am studying Children’s Ministry and couldn’t be any happier. I actually look forward to going to class, which was not the case when my major was dietetics.
Where am I from?
I grew up in a small town in Indiana called Goshen, which is surrounded by a bunch of Amish towns. This means I grew up with amazing food, beautiful country views, the BEST farmers markets and a very conservative community. My town and the surrounding towns have been quoted as “movie set” towns. They just have that cute “everybody knows everybody” feeling.

My Family
My family is about the cutest thing ever. I am the only girl and youngest among two brothers. My oldest brother Ian is 28. Ian and his beautiful wife have given me the two cutest nephews in the world, Liam and Tiernan. My other brother, Austin, is 22 and just recently got married to his gorgeous fiance in May of 2015. My mother and father are the most unconventional yet best parents in the world. They have always treated us as equals and taught us to follow our dreams and become our own person. I am not looking forward to the tearful goodbye with them.
My Friends
I honestly have the most amazing friends ever; I am not just saying that. They encourage me constantly, love me deeply, and challenge me in my relationship with the Lord. They also never fail to put a smile on my face. Life is always an adventure when I am with any one of them. Leaving them for a year is not going to be easy.
Me
I really enjoy snuggling into a blanket and reading a great book. I love hanging out with my friends because it’s always a blast. My obsession with movies is pretty bad. I have quite the collection of DVDs. My favorite movies include the Harry Potter series, Star Wars saga, Disney movies (Emperor’s New Groove), and the Parent Trap. My favorite type of music is oldies. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons, and Michael Buble are just a few of my favorites. Nature is one of my favorite things ever. I love to hike, bike, adventure, and hammock. Since my major is children’s ministry you can guess that I love hanging out with kiddos. I love spending time with my nephews and my favorite part of the week is when I volunteer in Children’s church on Sunday’s. The best jobs I’ve ever had are being a camp counselor and being a nanny.
Now that you know a little more about me, I am so excited for you to join this journey with me. A year is a long time to be away from all these amazing people but I couldn’t be more excited to step into this new adventure with God.
