I wanted to write up a quick post explaining what the World Race is, and what I’ll be doing on this trip. The World Race is an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries. The organization that the World Race is through is called Adventures in Missions. There are multiple “Routes” that I was able to choose from. The routes are a list of different countries that a racer is able to go on. My route is call the Expedition Route. It is a brand new route, and the whole idea behind it is to open up new countries for other teams to travel to later on. Most of the routes that I could have chosen to go on visit countries that the organization has already been to. This helps teams out tremendously as far as logistics are concerned. AIM has partnered with local churches, families, and organizations to provide WR teams with places to stay, food, services opportunities, etc.

The Expedition route that I am going on is pioneering into new countries. This means that we will not already have those logistics set up for us. We will be backpacking across borders, living out of our tents, and forming new relationships for the organization. Now some of the countries that I will be visiting are not friendly towards Christians. Because of this I will not be able to take a laptop with me into the field. If my laptop where to be stolen, then it could put the rest of the squad in danger, and my team. I forgot to mention that a “Squad” is a group of 40 World Racers that will go to each country with me. We will then split up into “Teams” of 5-6 people and spread out across the country that we enter.

I am not sure exactly what to expect, and I am not really sure what I will be doing on a daily basis. Our goal is to spread the Gospel and God’s love. As I mentioned before some of the countries that I will go to are not friendly towards Christians, so a lot of spreading the Gospel will come out of acts of service, and not from our mouths. I am very excited to see what God will do through me and through my team to further his Kingdom. During the expedition I will have to trust in Him completely for day to day things, and for wisdom and discernment in where to go and how to interact with folks in each country.

The Expedition Route goes through whats known as the 10/40 window, the most unreached area in the world.

As you probably noticed at the top of the blog page I am raising support to go on this trip. the total cost is $17,562. My first deadline for fundraising set by AIM is Sept 25th at $4500, $10,500 Dec 18th, $14,000 Feb 29th, and $17,562 by April 30th.
