We left the church earlier today than usual. After breakfast, and after the internet café, we had a 5 minute “rest” before we caught tuk tuks. We headed to a village about 30 kilometers away to share God’s word.
Pastor seems to know someone everywhere we go. As soon as we got there, we were escorted to a family’s house. We were ushered onto their beds that they brought out for us to sit on. Then, a group of people surrounded us to stare at us. By now, we should be used to it. But, no. I always feel like I’m a zoo animal or a super exciting movie, or a celebrity that is really interesting. They call us the “blessed ones” because we’re from America. They all want to see us for that reason.
We prayed for the people at that house after we sang some songs. I brought my guitar and Bible today because we never know what exactly we’ll end up doing at ministry. Today, they wanted us to sing. We then decided to name ourselves the VonTrapp family because we travel around to sing to an audience.
Soon, we went to pray for people in the village. One man that asked for prayer told us that whenever people in the past have prayed for him, he would hear noises and voices in his head, and sometimes the people praying would hear them too. We all prayed around him, laying hands, at the same time. After we closed, he had a look of joy and peace. He told Pastor that he didn’t hear the voices or noises and that he was healed. He had never been able to be prayed for before with pure peace.
We were a little confused and really excited. He was so overjoyed. Everyone around him was so overjoyed.
As we usually do, we moved on right away to the other people. There are so many needs. So many pains and sicknesses and anger. So much sadness and stress. It’s overwhelming.
About thirty minutes later, we came to a house of five people. We prayed for the lady of the house, then I prayed for the grandmother. Right after I finished praying for her, a man came up to me with a huge smile on his face. He literally jumped in front of me to ask for prayer. He said that his legs had pain and that his body was really weak. I prayed for him, and as soon as I finished, he made some hand signals. I asked Pastor what it meant. He told me that this man wanted to give his life to Jesus and put away all the demons and false idols in his life. He wanted to follow Jesus and make him the savior of his life. The man kept speaking as Pastor was talking, so Pastor interpreted it for me as well. He told me that the man no longer had pain in his legs and that he felt stronger.
God did a miracle in this man’s life.
Not only was he healed physically, but he decided today to make Jesus the Lord of His Life.
Thank you Jesus!!
We stayed in the village for a few hours past that, and had lunch with a family. We were spent by 5:00, so we returned home. It was a really great day in the village. We are so exhausted, but completely in love with our Savior!
