This is a street called San Sebastian.
Located in the heart of the village Mijas, Spain.
We live in a house about halfway up on the right and no lie every time I walk out my front door, I’m in someone’s photograph.
In fact, I didn’t even take these photos I just Google Image Searched them.
It’s not just the beauty here that’s been amazing (There will be a picture of the village at the end of the blog)
but the quality of the men leading G42, the depth of the community and the limitless opportunities for deep conversation and growth that has absolutely blown me away.
I can’t even journal enough to keep up with
all the revelations and lessons I have gained these first two weeks!
God has brought me to the Banquet Table and I am more confident then ever
that there are things for me to get here that will be a final major launching pad for my entire life and ministry.
Thank you to those that have given! (I’m about half-way there on support. Click
Here if you can help)

I want to try something new for my blog during my time in Spain.
Whether it works will be determined by you guys!
Every Friday I want to have an Open Forum discussion.
It will be on something we were talking about in class in the past week.
This way, you can get an idea of what’s being taught here and I get to hear your thoughts!
The Topic this Week: The Church.
During our week long discussion on the Church (including Church Government and the 5 fold ministry gifts) we were given an assignment.
If you started a Church and were in charge – WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?
We as people (especially my generation which is leaving established church at an astonishing rate) have a lot of criticisms of the church as it is today.
I put myself in that category even.
I also know that it can be Easy to Criticize BUT Hard to Create.
So I took a little time and jotted down some ideas………
– It would be based off the House Church model with possible monthly corporate gatherings. (No Building!)
– Corporate gatherings would be unique each week and extremely free flowing.
– Active partnership with other local churches and very in tune with the communities needs.
– A system of elders and leadership as modeled and taught by the early church.
– A focus on Justice, Freedom, Mentoring and the Holy Spirit.
These were just a few of my thoughts.
We all presented in class one day and you know what?
Out of 10 people that are all genuinely in love with Jesus and passionately seeking after Him –
We had a lot of different thoughts on how things could be done!
And I loved hearing everyone else’s thoughts – I found myself writing new ideas down and even being grateful that we in the body of Christ are so different!
It made me think that the challenge for
Christian Unity isn’t
That we learn to
Agree on
Everything –
It’s that we learn to Dis-Agree Well.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
If you started a Church – What would it look like? (Or what have you seen in existing Churches that you like?)
Obviously you can’t write it all but how about just a few important elements?
Let the discussion begin……………
Mijas! My home for the next 6 months!
