I can’t believe the first month is already over! It’s been amazing seeing all that God has done in and through my team and me. I learned so much through our time at Impact Africa. We got to come alongside Impact Africa and help them carry out their values of serve, educate, and rescue. Much of what we did was door to door ministry. While I can’t say this is my gifting, I did learn a lot through this time. I saw the value of simplicity and the power that comes along with just listening to other. We met several people while out serving in the communities who had such a joy even though they seem to have nothing, it is so beautiful. Not only could we pray for them but several of them prayed for us as well. The most common prayer request we came across was people needing jobs. Many people go to Johannesburg to look for work and end up living in the squatter camps that we would go into. There were salvations, healings, and conversations that have changed lives. Plot 89 is one of the communities that we went to. It was a smaller community that we covered in a couple of days but they kept sending us back. It seemed frustrating because we had already walked the whole community and I know I would doubt that any more good could come from going back but God would show up every time. Many people on our team had the opportunity to go back and disciple those they had already talked to and many other amazing stories came from those days. Impact Africa also has several preschools in the communities, they go into high schools, and have a baby rescue program. We had the opportunities to play with kids from the preschools, put on several kids programs, and do an assembly at a high school.

We traveled to Nelspruit for the last few days where we took time to debrief, process, and rest. We got to share stories and talk with our mentors and coach. They are the best! We also had the opportunity to go on a safari at Kruger National Park and saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes, a leopard, and more! I’m so incredibly grateful for this time!

As we’re on the bus heading to Swaziland, I am excited to see what God has in store. One of my biggest struggles this last month has been believing that God can use me personally but I’m choosing to leave that mentality behind as we head into this new ministry. I am going in with a new faith and trusting that God can and will move in even greater ways in these next couple months!
