Sawadeeka!

I miss Thailand already, and while I reminisce in missing the kids, the ministry, and the crazy heat, I thought I would share some musings of their culture.

Always greet others with a “Y,” by pressing hands together and bowing. A smile is a must in the “land of a thousand smiles.”

Always take your shoes off before entering the indoors (I could get used to that).

In need of a toilet, or want a shower? Why not do both at the same time?

Those black cauldrons on the street? Thailand’s not full of witches, just unique trash cans made out of recycled tires.

Thai food is as good as you’ve heard. And at less than $1/meal, it’s rather affordable.

Those roadside, shady looking restaurants? They have the best food!

Trying to keep your food?  Keep an eye out for a monkey attack.

Looking for an alternative to Thai food? There’s plenty of bugs: silk works, crickets, bamboo worms, and grasshoppers for everyone.

Thai lanterns are real things here…a beautiful experience.

The people are beautiful. They are friendly and accommodating.

Check out this video of several of the Thai dances we got to see while at the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center.
