FUNDRAISING
One of my biggest New Year’s Resolutions is to be so much more proactive about my fundraising for this Race. I put the words “fun“ in fundraising in all caps in the title because I am desperately trying to remember to find joy in every aspect of this journey. If I can be real with y’all though, it is hard. Fundraising is a scary and overwhelming thing. I struggle with worry and thoughts like “What if I don’t raise the support? What do I do?” And I can let my heart be calmed because God has every bit of it under control, but that doesn’t mean I can just sit back and do nothing. God has called me to this Race and with that comes the calling to fundraise. I must do so diligently and cheerfully.
That being said, I have so many ideas spreading through my head for fundraising, but only three so far that are currently going on.
THREADS OF HOPE
These bracelets (and camera straps) were handmade by women in the Philippines. Half of the money from them is sent back to those women to support their precious families, while the other half goes straight into my Race fund.
T-SHIRTS
I am selling T shirts (designed by Fund The Nations). They are $20 per shirt. Five extra dollars for 2X and 3X shirts.
ADOPT A BOX
This one is a little different. I have a canvas with boxes 1-100 painted on it. These boxes can be “adopted.” That simply means that when someone adopts box number 1, they donate $1 to me. If you adopt box 23, you donate $23. Box 54 is $54 and so on. If all the boxes get adopted, I will be a third of the way fundraised!!
