I realized that most of you probably don’t know what CGA is, the department at Adventures in Missions that I transitioned into. So here’s a little run down of who we are, what we do and my new role!
CGA
(Center for Global Action)
CGA exists to mobilize a generation of radical Christ followers into building the Kingdom here and now. We focus on teaching and equipping the church with the ability to connect with God intimately, cultivate life-giving community and establish/advance the Kingdom of God on a mission.
The World Race is phase one for a lot of young believers who are itching for something more in their walk with the Lord. They travel the world for a year with other Christians, learning how to get outside of their comfort zones, meet the Lord in new ways, live with fellow believers in a tight knit community and serve the nations with the love of Christ- all out of a backpack with a lot of adventure!
CGA is kind of like a phase two.
After racers come home, sometimes they realize they want a little more training and support as they transition from life overseas back into everyday America. The Holy Spirit also awakens some of them with a passion to serve and lead other believers into deeper levels of faith & mission.
That’s where CGA comes in. We take the racers who want 5 more months of training and discipleship, and we bring them to Gainesville, GA to equip them with everything we’ve got.
> The apprentices at CGA live in community houses, so that they can continue to learn how to create church-community within their homes. They have house mentors that help establish some healthy routines and discipleship times.
> They get part time jobs in Gainesville, so they can be a part of the greater community and learn to manage life, work, and class while allowing the Lord to transplant what they are learning into environments that aren’t always saturated in Christianity. They get to learn how to balance being a leader of faith in the workforce.
> Staff members at Adventures in Missions partner with each of the CGA apprentices and meet on a weekly basis to create meaningful and helpful mentorship relationships while our apprentices are learning and being equipped with loads of things.
> Apprentices spend five days a week in class with us, staff. This is the greatest reason why they come, because they want to be taught. We teach them throughout the semester how to know God, know themselves, lead themselves, and lead others.

My role at CGA is to serve as one of the instructors. I help create the overall curriculum and training that we hope to give to the apprentices during their time with us. Ben (the other instructor) and I brainstorm about life lessons, leadership skills, self-awareness tools and overall lessons with the Lord that we want them to be equipped with. Our hope is to create a discipleship and leadership school that effectively teaches believers how to walk with the Lord through life in this world, while gaining freedom and the ability to lead others into Kingdom freedom too.
This role has been a beautiful mix of a few things I love, creating and dreaming while also getting to teach and give away practical tools & wisdom I’ve learned over my years with the World Race.
Our current project is working on curriculum for next semester! We’re dreaming of books to read, speakers to invite to share their wisdom and training, life skills, leadership tools and loads of self-awareness that brings forgiveness and healing for our own stories. If you have any thoughts or tips, we’re looking for great & powerful things to give to these apprentices!

I’m beyond thankful for the time I’ve spent serving with Adventures in Missions. I’m unbelievably thankful for you constant support, prayers and encouragement through this Kingdom focused life I’ve been able to live.
Thank you for your consistency. Thank you for your support. Thank you for helping me keep going!
All the love,
Kaylaynn
