Over the weekend myself and two of the teams got to host a retreat for the women here in North Africa.

It was such a sweet and blessed time together–empowering, building community and cultivating a space for the women to learn, share and experience the Lord in a new way!

One quick testimony came from our first day with one of the French speaking women. We did an activity called “What’s my Worth?” and in that time the Lord broke the chains of a lie that she had been believing since she was little. She had been sitting at the table silent, afraid to speak, but then one of the older women prompting her. When the woman decided to step with courage this is what she shared: She had been practicing for a competition and when she went to the person choosing the participants told her “you are not good enough, and therefore wont be chosen.”

I don’t know about you, but when I heard that I got (what I hope) righteous anger for her, for how dare someone speak that over her. But, the amazing thing is that after seeking the Lord out for His truth she said “God told me that I am enough” tears streaming down her face, “for years that lie had a foothold on my life, but God says that I am chosen, always. Now I am free!”

Wow! God is good you all! What amazing truth He speaks to us when we intentionally sit with Him and seek His truth. More stories and photos of our time will come, but for now let’s just give Him all of the praise for He is worthy of it all!
