Hi, hello there.
I’m Gilly, no actually Erin is my real name, but most people call me Gilly. You’re probably thinking “where the heck did the name Gilly come from?” Well, my last name is Gillen and why not nickname your last name to be your first name, right? Moving on from a novel about my name, yes I’m Gilly and I’m a freshmen at the University of Arkansas. I’m majoring in Recreation & Sports Management and honestly couldn’t tell you what I’m going to do with that or where I will be in 4+ years but it sounds like a cool major so why not. There are some stinking cool people in Fayetteville and by cool I mean like reeeeeeeal cool and it’s incredible. Thanks for the community Jesus!
I’m originally from Coppell, Texas so I’m a little far from home but I love it here. I’m kinda really into social media, especially Instagram and have my own little hashtag “#Jesusrocks”. People make fun of me a lot for it but I secretly know they like it. If you feel so inclined to use my hashtag, by all means do it, it’s for His Kingdom anyway.
I’ve got a big family, a set of the coolest parents in the world and 5 siblings- 3 brothers & 2 sisters and no they don’t call me Gilly because that would be weird. I’m the youngest and what a cool thing that is. My siblings are so supportive and I’ve definitely stepped out of the box a little (a lot) with the WR but they encourage and love me daily and are excited to see what happens. My parents are ridiculously awesome, compassionate, hard working, and freaking rock. My dad Glenn aka Champ is a dope gardener and the hardest working person I ever did see. My mom Jo aka Jojo has the biggest heart in the world and can plan family events like nobody’s business- hey parentals if you’re reading this I love you and thanks a lot.
I’m reflecting back on that large paragraph I just typed and realized there wasn’t too much super valuable information about why I’m doing what I’m doing, but that just means you have to stick around for the coming blog posts for more rants and nonsense and a smidge of substance about The Lord and his mighty work.
In Him,
Erin “Gilly” Gillen
