Hello, hello again! Sorry it has been so long since you’ve last heard from me. I have been super busy with school and other things that life has thrown my way. However, that is not an excuse to spend less time with God. It can be so easy to be distracted by our day-to-day happenings. That is why I believe that distractions can be silent killers of faith. I’m guilty of it, just as everyone else is. Life gets hectic, and it’s easy to diverge. What is important, is to focus back on what matters, your walk with Christ.

So I would like to start with a big THANK YOU!! I have been so overwhelmed with the support I’ve received. In such a short amount of time, I have already passed my halfway deadline. I know that with my next deadline of $4,200 coming up at the end of April I will continue to be blessed. It means so much to me that you guys took the time out of your busy lives to read what I have to say. I cannot express my gratitude for the amount of support that has been given. The best way I know how to repay you is through this blog. You can follow my journey and see what your blessings are doing in real time. I hope as my trip gets closer and when I am in the field, you continue to follow me.

Simple distractions can lead to addictions, which can ultimately lead us away from the truth. It is so important to keep in mind that there is no substitution for spending time in the presence of God. There is no quick and easy fix. The only solution is to focus our eyes on the King and He will lead us down the right path.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”  -2 Corinthians 4:18

I’ve attached a video to this blog that goes into a little more depth of what I will be doing on my trip, and why I am doing what I am. I was blessed to have a member of my church, Torin Dixon, create this for me. To see more of what he has done you can visit his website missionsconnection.org. I am not very good at public speaking and I am a little camera shy, but here is a combination of both so please give me grace!

Blessings, Ellie.
