So I know you guys haven’t heard from me in quite a while. For that, I’m sorry. I’ll be honest..blogging is not easy. The life I’m living right now is so life-bringing, so Spirit-filled, so unlike anything I have experienced in America, it’s difficult to stop and try to write it out in a way that makes sense.
Anyways, this is my “catching up blog. So you guys can know the context of where I have been and where I now am. Soon I am going to write a much better blog about what God is actually doing in my heart,..but first here is your context 🙂
My time serving I Swaziland ended a month ago. I spent a month and a half at El Shaddai Children’s Home, up in the mountains of Swaziland. I got to know dozens of orphans who truly became my friends. I celebrated Christmas with 37 incredible squad mates and over 50 excited orphans. It was a Christmas that I will never, ever forget.
In Swazi I also spent one month in Manzini, where I focused on sports ministry. I got to connect with Swazi boys through playing soccer and other games. It was great! (My teammate and best friend Will Petersen wrote an excellent blog about that ministry entitled “The Father’s Heart.” It’s definitely worth your time!)
Now, here I am in Nicaragua, on the last leg of my Race. Two months from now, I will be in the United States. My ministry for the past few weeks, and the next almost two months, is teaching English through a local church. I teach three English classes a day, three days a week. We have students ages 8 to 65, and all in between. The classes have allowed both my team and the pastor whom we are partnering with to build relationships with our students, and we have had many opportunities to share the gospel with them! The people we teach are more than just students to me; they are my friends.
Pray for our English class students, that they would see something different in us and that God would use us to draw them closer to His heart.
Stay tuned for my next blog, where I am actually gonna get much more real with yall.
Love you, supporters, friends, and family.
Peace out.
