So training camp.

Its weird being back for this – although it hasnt started yet, and i anticipate seeing what “the other side” looks like. So i will be sharing as the week goes on how and what and why and when and all that jazz.

I’m sure you cant wait.

.

Although –

Theres going to be some good stuff. And already its happening. So i wanted to share with you some stuff i learned today during lunch with my ol’ Squad Leader Charmagne.

Charmagne is an amazing, wise, qwirky, and dry humor woman of God.

From the moment i met her i liked her and have wanted to be her friend. Luckily i got my wish.

Today, she invited me to go out to lunch with her and while we sat outside in the gorgeous weather eating our delicious gourmet meal –

– she and i shared with eachother where we were in life and how we felt about that, and then she hit me with what im about to share with you.

.

“Its all fake,” she is totally serious. “All the things we make up to make it through life, its all made up by us!

You dont see God telling Abram ‘Tell me where you want to go, and i’ll take you there!’ No. God says ‘im taking you to the promise land. Leave and go to the place i will show you.’

Abram packs up and he has no idea where he’s going!

When people ask me, ‘Where do you see yourself in ten years?’ I say, ‘I dont.’

My goals are right now, everyday to see how can i hear the Lords voice? How can i be in a position to hear His voice and how can i make myself ready to respond to it?

Im not saying the Lord doesnt promise us stuff or show us stuff but I want to be faithful with today and eventually im going to get there.

Not because i’ve figured it out and planned and followed that plan to get there, but because He takes me there.

Have you ever noticed the harder you try to make it happen the farther you even are to that being a possibility?

Part of the reason we “have to” try so hard and get so frustrated in life is because its all just made up! the rules and the plans and the stuff people try in order to fit into “the way” to do life is not real. Thats why it doesnt work.” – charmagne slaubaugh

so, yea.

do i believe God wants us to dream?

Yea. I think He wants us to be ourselves. So if you are a dreamer, then dream away. But do i think dreaming is a requirement of following God?

No. I realize no.

God doesnt say “tell me your dreams!” However, He does say to commit our ways to Him.

What does commit mean?

commit:

To carry out or perpetrate (to do unto),

To pledge or bind,

To send, entrust, or consign, in particular (to give into the care of)

.

So, it sounds like God wants us to put asside our own plans or to do them for Him…which if our plans are self centered desires cannot be done…

God in fact already has a plan, and has a way.

Will we lay down our ideas and pray for and embrace His design, no matter how illogical they seem?

God can in fact do whatever He thinks will work. Because He knows it will work.

All He has to do is speak, and itll be done.
