L I V

Olivia is really good at listening and makes it clear that she cares deeply. She is constantly serving people, and because of that, inconveniences herself often. She meets people where they’re at, but is not passive when truth needs to be spoken; she is secure in her identity in the Lord, and it allows her to unashamedly and kindly call people to a higher standard. Liv gives really tight hugs, lets me tackle her onto random couches and/or mattresses, and finds a lot of joy in scaring the crap out of people (and getting it on video). She feels kinda like a big sister to me, and I just love her a lot.

I’m thankful for the example of servant leadership that she sets.

WHAT’S HER ROLE? Alumni Team Leader. There are anywhere from two to four team leaders on each gap year squad, all of whom have done the world race gap year before. Most of the ages of ATLs range from 19 to 22. Alumni team leading is a new program for gap year, and each TL is usually over one or two teams. Their role is to form intentional relationships with the Racers, run team times, work side-by-side with their team during ministry, and provide guidance for assimilation into “world race life.” ATLs have a unique role in bridging the gap between Squad Leaders and Squad Mentors – because of their age, there is a foundation of trust already built that SQLs and SQMs would have to take time to build.

FUN FACT: Olivia loves dancing. Especially when it involves “the chainsaw.” (pictured above)

What do you offer people?

I’m an inviting person. Life is this crazy adventure we get to do with Jesus. I invite people into the journey I’m on with Him. I allow them to just be, to let loose and show their goofiest self. I create space to dream, talk about their passions, and what makes them come alive.
