Today I answered to, “Mommy” and “Momma.” These are the names the children at the Children’s Shelter call all of the women working with them. Usually they use the names when they are tattling on another child or when they want something, but occasionally they use these names as terms of endearment. I spent the day feeding tiny little babies and toddlers. My clothes got messier in one day than they usually do in a whole week. My arm became sore to the point of shaking from holding so many babies. And I listened to more crying than I have heard in years. But, I loved every minute of the day.
