When I “worry ahead”, stepping forward into the unknown feels a bit like slogging through a mudpath. Yet so often, the actual action of walking turns out to be a lot easier than I imagined it would be.
When I get up the courage to take the first step of faith, I find that Holy God blows away the waters… and suddenly I am walking on dry, solid ground.
He waits for me to take the first step…
– When I walk in worry –
Worry is a thief: of joy, of peace,
of walking through today with my head held high.
Worry is a control freak,
a need-to-know life, a sudden stopper on the filling of God’s presence in my spirit.
Worry clutches and controls. It is tense, fearful, and not so fun.
– When I Walk in Wonder –
Wonder is an embrace: of joy, of peace,
of walking through today with my arms open wide.
It is a letting go,
a carefree life, tearing wide open the floodgates of Heaven.
Wonder frees, laughs, and lets go. It is joyful, amazed, and so much fun. 🙂
