Just for fun, I’ll let you in on one of the talks our team has had recently.
Things we won’t take for granted when we get back to the States:
-Fitted sheets
-Driving
-Our families
-Our own kitchen
-Actual alone time. Not just putting headphones in and staring at a corner.
-Clean water
-Hot water
-Being able to go anywhere you want, at anytime you want
-Knowing that there will be toilet paper in the bathroom
-Our dogs
-Coffee in the morning, made to order
-Not having to wash our feet all the time
-Good cheese
-Storage space, and closets, and dresser drawers
-People actually waiting in lines, instead of mobbing the cash register
-Spike ball
-Trash cans and recycling
-Hand towels and dish cloths
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
While there are quite a few things we’re longing for and looking forward to, we discovered quite a few things we might take for granted on the Race:
-People to pray with and worship with, all the time
-Ministry built into your daily life
-Facilitated growth
-People who are hungry for the Gospel
-Having someone else plan your schedule. You just have to show up!
-Christ-centered community
-Forced intentionality
-The joy of the children we get to play with
-Being able to experience prayer, and worship in other cultures and languages
-Trying new foods
-Meeting new people every day
…Father, help us to live in each moment, with gratitude and joy. : )
