Month 2 is in Haiti and we are one week in. God has done so much already! We are at Mission of Hope (look it up online, an incredibly well developed organization.) We spend a lot of time in the local villages. We call it “Village Time”, which means we go house to house and get to know the families. After lunch we spend the rest of the day playing with all the kids in the village. Never before have I met kids who are so so sassy! They are so much fun!! The kids love pretending you’re a jungle gym, the girls love to braid your hair and everyone here loves music and soccer!

The other day during our village time, we met a lady who lives at the top of a mountain. I’d tell you her name, but it’s Creole and my brain has no recollection of something so unfamiliar. EEK! Anyways, she tells us about her house and how it was effected by the earthquake and how when it’s windy, she can feel her house shaking a bit. She tells us about her life, her kids, and grandkids. She tells us about her church and how much she enjoys being involved in her community. She proceeds to then sing us a song in her own language, which translated to “Before God, finding joy was such a struggle.”It was such a genuine worship moment. We asked if we could pray for her before we had to go, and she proceeded to tell us she had chicken gunea and her knees were in constant pain. We gathered around her, placed our hands on her knees, and claimed Gods promises and healing over her. When we were done praying, she told the translator, “as you were praying I could feel the pain leaving.” God healed her! How beautiful is that?
I’m realizing more and more that God healing people isn’t only for the mission field. I’m learning that all He asks for is the willingness to step out and proclaim His will on earth. When Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, He said “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” God’s will is always good. He is good. Good is His character!
Why do I say healing/miracles aren’t just for Missions? Because God does miracles wherever we are, we just have to ask. Neala, one of my team members, she frequently gets migraines and headaches. Since coming to Haiti, they’ve been much more present and noticeable. We were together as a team, and as she told us this, we decided to just pray for her. Why do we need to suffer or “just deal” with things like that? WE DON’T! So we all prayed for her, for God to move in and through her, and when we were done praying, her headache had become less noticeable but not all the way better. We talked a little, then prayed again, and when were done- her headache was completely gone! He is SO FAITHFUL!
The NEXT MORNING, my teammate Nikki, her veins in her arm were irritated from an IV she had the first day we were in Haiti (a week ago) because of dehydration. So her arm was bruising, painful to the touch and when she moved her hand it was really painful and hard to do so. So, what happens next? We get our team together and we pray Gods goodness over her. We pray once, the pain wasn’t gone. We prayed again, she began laughing with joy (I thought she was going to cry) because her hand didn’t hurt to move! She was healed!

It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve been able to see so far, God showering us in His love by showing us His faithfulness. So again, I ask you a similar question as I did a few weeks ago, WHAT MIRACLE ARE YOU BELIEVING GOD FOR? He is faithful, ya’ll! He is so faithful.

Miracles aren’t taking place because I’m in another country. I’m sure I would have seen them at home if I would have been willing to step out and ask God for them. So, ask God for them!! Pray with the people in your family who are sick, lay hands on them, and pray bold prayers! What do you have to lose? NOTHING. If you feel otherwise, you need to realize it’s not about you. Miracles don’t rest on your shoulders, they rest on Gods. He just wants to use us to make them happen, but it’s not by our might, only His.

I want to hear your testimonies, your stories, your prayers, etc! I want to hear what miracle you’re believing God for and I’ll have my team praying in agreement with you!

With Love,
Andie
