these are just a few photos to encompass the life i live here in ethiopia! this blog is a little bit different, but portrays this life so well!

the first week spent here in ethiopia our squad had an awakening! what an awakening is, is when two squads overlap in a country and just spend time learning from each other and worshipping all together. during this timeframe of a few short days i formed deep connections with people from an 11n11 squad! as a parting gift, i got a jesus storytelling bible from a sweet friend. the kids love it and it’s been cool to see the bible from a child’s perspective! little J and Fidessa love flipping through it.

the skies in africa are like nothing i’ve ever seen before. each sunrise and sunset promise such beauty. little gifts from the Creator each day.

a beautiful face that met us on a walk. something that can be expected when walking almost anywhere, beautiful bright faces that grab your hands and follow.

zanet. one of the women that cook every meal for us at the base. i’ve never seen a woman walk with so much joy. she serves us all with enthusiasm and wears the biggest smile while doing it.

during the new year’s volleyball tournament we had, little J fell asleep in my lap. how precious!

water day. a day set up for the children we live with. hot sun, cold water. they were quite happy!

a sweet smile, from a sweet girl. sintu has the warmest smile and takes it everywhere she goes. honored to know such a strong and beautiful young woman!

we don’t hop in vehicles very often, but when we do rest assured we will stop and wait for various animals to cross the road to continue on.

got to hold a goat that ventured onto our side of the fence. just like iowa! (kinda?)

lil lule. saw me cutting grass and decided that he could do it better. definitely the cutest little helper.

i just wanted to show some of the faces and things that make this life here in ethiopia oh so special. and this is only a little glimpse! can’t wait to show more pictures and share more stories.

talk soon,
