We had lived in the area for about a month an a half coming and going. Doing ministry at Eagles Nest International, with the school, and outreach to those we met on the streets. One day a few of the girls went to a tea party down the street at an orphanage that we had not seen kids at yet. Another girl and I stepped in for a moment to deliver a message to the others during the tea party. When I went in I had this really weird feeling and I didn’t know what it was. Later the girls came back in the afternoon with so much news about the Children’s home. They told us the good news about the Children’s Home, the kids, and people there. One of my team member’s said how when she walked in she could feel the Holy Spirit in the place. We set a day to visit it was all very exciting.

The day came and as I walked through the gate I felt the same feeling I had the first time and still could not put my figure on what it was. We went in and the director Moses started telling us about Vine Branch Children’s home about the exciting stories, history, struggles, and goals. He talked about how he thought it was great that we had come and was excited for us to talk with the kids. Moses spoke of the finical struggles and how recently they had a donation that would feed the kids for two weeks. Although they were still struggling in many area they felt so blessed. So I asked if they had a website and he said no but someone said they would make one sometime and now Moses was just waiting. He said that they did have a Facebook page that Charles was in charge of. I told Moses that I would look into making them a website but made no promises.

After a bit I figured out that weird feeling I was having when I walked into Vine Branch Children’s home. It was a sense of home, peace, and a ton of confidence but a good amount not to much. One day I was walking in and one of the girls on my team was behind me said Amber when you walk in I can see the change you become more confident and walk through and talk as if you were in charge. I had never went somewhere and had that feeling. It was good though and I was able to get a website going for them. Then trained Charles on how to update the website.

This experiences was one of the best and the last ministry I had on the Race. Vinebranch ministries and Children’s home has so many plans to grow and improve. They have projects they want to finish and others they want to get started on. All to help self sustain themselves so that they do not have to rely on fundraising. If you could pray for them that would mean a lot and if you want to do more email them on their website.

If you have a few minutes follow this link to check out the website there are also pictures. We didn’t have much time and it was a free process so it is not the fanciest website. God willing it will help Vine Branch share stories of the Children find more supporters and help them to continue to change lives. http://vinebranchministriesofzambia.weebly.com/
