Sometimes you start church at 10:00 am with the assumption of getting home by 2:00 pm.

Don’t do that.

We had all of these plans for when we got home from church. We were going to write some blogs, do laundry, catch up on some reading.

None of that happened.

Something greater happened.

After I got my hair done and we picked up our live chicken we headed up to the local biker gang of Nepal. It was so much fun and the pastor was so into watching the guys doing all of these crazy tricks on their bikes. (Don’t worry Mom and Dad i just watched from the side lines)

We were on the road yet again to pray for a family. In the middle of the road there was a pile of dirt. Oh not a flat road, a hill, with a small drop off on the other side. We got stuck! Had to turn around and go a different way. Then guess what, we got stuck, again! No dirt pile this time, another giant rock stuck under the wheel well. So we lifted the truck up with our bare hands (all 6 of us girls, and 2 men) someone was able to slide the rock out from under the truck. Totally kidding, we jacked the truck up like we were changing a tire and we were able to slide the rock out.

We got to a church members house and they start making some tea, praise the Lord!!! They didn’t have much but exampled Jesus’ heart in their hospitality so well. They made us tea, they made us pop corn (after we shucked the corn, which I loved), and made us this spicy ramen that was SO GOOD! After all of that we found out that their granddaughter has a small hole in her heart and is waiting to get surgery. Due to the hole in her heart, the blood is not properly pumped throughout her body. Her legs are so weak she can not walk or even stand on her own. To get the surgery she first needs to gain weight. Once that happens, they should be able to get the surgery to repair the hole in her heart. Her mom is a Christian, her dad is not. Her dad left her mom because she is Christian. He said that once she leaves Christ, he will come back. That is the cost of following Jesus here, you can loose people you love.

If we would have gotten home by 2:00 pm we would have missed out on all of these experiences.

I would have missed out on playing with kids.

I would have missed out on uncontrollable laughter with my team

I would have missed out the fresh perspective of what is Jesus doing in this exact moment. What does he have for us right now.

I would have missed out on Jesus filling my cup and let it overflow with love.
