B R I A N  &  C A T H Y

When Brian and Cathy stood in front of Gap V at Training Camp and told their testimonies, my eyes were opened to the power of faith. I remember literally tearing listening to them speak. These two people carry a heavy awareness of the power of the Holy Spirit. They live lives of surrender that lead others into surrender. They are always seeking to give. Their passion for seeing heaven come to earth – especially on our squad – is insane. They are so passionate about the Lord. And they’re really funny.

I’m thankful for the way that they teach and turn the simplest things into learning experiences.

WHAT’S THEIR ROLE?  Coaches. For every gap year and 11n11 squad, an older married couple volunteer as coaches. Their role is to work closely with the squad mentor (Kate). They participate in weekly leadership calls with Kate and the squad leaders (unity!). They help cast vision, offer a greater level of maturity and wisdom to the squad, and mentor the Racers from afar through call, text, and prayer. They come out to the field three times over the course of nine months – during the week of debrief. During those debriefs, they have a lot of one-on-one conversations with the Racers.

FUN FACT: Cathy and Brian live in Honduras as full-time missionaries and have been married for 14 years.

What do you offer people?

(Brian)

Truth, wisdom, experience and hopefully inspiration. A father’s Heart.

(Cathy)

I have Truth Love and Hope to offer in the midst of imperfection and failure. Friendship and an ear to hear your story. A hug or a shoulder to cry on..  I can offer you my Jesus, who can introduce you to your creator, your Father and your real identity in the midst of this crazy chaotic world.
