It was one of the last days in Costa Rica before heading to Nicaragua. Megan was freaking out because her and Casey were leaving in an hour and she couldn’t find her Bible anywhere. Her Bible is very dear to her heart and anyone who constantly reads their Bible knows how we get comfortable with our own Bibles because when we want to find a verse or passage we know exactly where it is located on the page and makes it easier to find. Anyway, she was pretty distraught and we were trying to retrace her steps and it as just confusing and full of emotion. I thought for a moment and asked if I could pray for her and her Bible. I prayed a simple prayer like “God, you know how special and important Megan’s Bible is to her. You are all knowing and we believe you have the knowledge of exactly where that Bible is this very moment. Please Lord, help us to find the Bible. Clear our minds and help them to think straight of retracing Megan’s steps in allowing her to find this Bible…one of the ways you communicate with her! In Jesus’ Name Amen.”

After that I asked Megan again the last time she may have had her Bible and she was thinking about it more and knew she took it to a missionaries house so the thought it might be there and then she remembered that she had put it back in her backpack so maybe it’s in there. She went to the room where her backpack was and low and behold the Bible was at the bottom of her backpack!

Megan started crying…..of joy! Reuniting with her Bible!

Honestly that gave me a faith boost as well. I know it was something very small and maybe even categorized as something selfish but I thought to myself if God helps us find the smallest things (in this case a Bible) and answering our smallest prayers what would happen if we start praying for BIGGER things? Such as asking for the impossible to become possible.

Examples:
-mending a broken marriage
-being set free from a reoccurring sin
-reconciling a friendship
-a barran woman being able to bear a child
-God providing during a financial problem
-being healed from a disease that has a high mortality rate
