God and Shakira

Our final day of ministry at the K-9 school we were at was Zumba. You heard it right folks, they wanted us to teach the school of over 300 students, Zumba. We all looked at each other like are you serious? But my golly we did it, and we did it WELL.

If there is any advice I can give you future racers, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, where you’re placed in front of 50 plus 5th grade kids and asked to dance, put on Waka Waka (This One’s For Africa) by Shakira and have them go wild. Apparently the only people with no language barriers are God and Shakira because any Shakira song we played the kids knew. It was a perfect way to end our time at the school, and I’ll admit, I’m even a little sad to leave these kiddos. I didn’t expect to connect with the middle school aged kids so well, but I’m glad I did.

 Love,
