ICM (International Care Ministries): An organization that has been called to release the poorest of the poor in the Philippines from spiritual, emotional, and physical bondage. ICM partners with local churches where the Transform, Uplift, Preschool, Mercy, and leader Care programs are held. During their time spent in each location, the ICM staff goes over the three fundamental keys that ICM strive on: Values, Health, and Livelihood training/education.
I was able to take part in each of these ministries and learned A LOT from the staff; they were the true definition of what a servant of God really is. Every morning at around 8am (sometimes earlier) the staff would meet at the ICM office, do paperwork, go to the ministry site, and get home at 6pm on average. Most of the ministry sites were anywhere from an hour to two and a half hours away from Dumaguete; I never once heard the ICM staff complain about ANYTHING! It was evident that the staff at ICM was passionate about their ministry and LOVED the people they came in contact with; I was more than inspired.
I had the honor to experience each one of ICM’s programs at least once and was asked to give my testimony a few of those times. We (Ignitus and Ginosko) were also invited to the pre-school graduation where we had the privilege of standing on stage and shaking each graduate’s hand. They were SO cute!
The children stole my heart in more ways than one. Many of the kids had some heart-breaking stories, but they were filled with SO much Joy; Jesus shined in each one of them! It was SUPER hard to not only leave the kids, but also the staff at ICM; I have never met anyone quite like them.
What a month of ministry-what a TRUE blessing from the Lord above!
Thank you ICM for one of the most memorable months I have EVER had! I will forever cherish every moment…
…and Bong Bong Palm Tree…
