Hello all!

I’ve informally wrote about the World Race, my heart for this mission, and ways that you can help. But I thought I’d also include my formal support letter as well. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support; I am very appreciative!

WHAT… WHY…

I answered God’s call to go on the WORLD RACE, a mission adventure of a lifetime.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!””

 – Isaiah 6:8

WHEN… WHERE… HOW

11 countries in 11 months: Guatemala. Honduras. Nicaragua. Costa Rica. South Africa. Mozambique. Swaziland. Thailand. Myanmar. Malaysia. Philippines. By Faith…

For most of my life, I’ve put God in a box and tried to make Him fit inside, confined by the limitations of my own understanding. In the past four years, God has continued to move in my life experiences to continually show me that He is bigger and better than I will ever know or understand in this earthly life…and that He also likes to draw outside the lines of my plans and agendas.

If you had asked me what my life plan was when I was in high school, my response would have been along the lines of: go to college, get married, have kids, and be a stay-at-home wife and mother, all in motion ideally by the time I was 26 years old…God wrecked each and every one of the plans I made and rebuilt them with His plans for my life… And I couldn’t be more blessed because of it.

It began when I moved to Michigan for college, 1,700 miles away from home. He flipped my life upside down during my four years at Concordia. During that time I had the wonderful opportunities of: serving a short term mission trip working with inner city youth in Orlando, Florida; studying abroad in London for three weeks; completing a four month Child Life internship in Washington, D.C.; and after graduating from college living in Bolivia with missionary relatives and volunteering at an orphanage for three months. These experiences ignited and fed my passion for experiencing new places and meeting new people, a heart for orphans, a desire to help children and families thrive, and the aspiration to be a light for Christ in this world, wherever God plants me.

I firmly believe that God used those experiences, (some of which I fought against and others which I embraced wholeheartedly) to prepare me for my present calling, the World Race.

Beginning in January, I will be serving as a missionary in the World Race program, which is organized through the interdenominational Christian organization, Adventures In Missions.  The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. During this time, I will be living out of a backpack, communing and working 24/7 with a team of approximately six people, and experiencing daily life similar to the natives of each country we travel to.

On the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of God’s love across the nations.

I feel very blessed to have this opportunity that God has given me, and have every confidence that He will provide for my needs before, during, and after the World Race! The Lord is faithful, and He equips those who He calls.

As family, friends, and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, I would like to share this experience with you and invite you to support me in spreading the love of Jesus around the world. It is my hope that you would consider partnering prayerfully and financially with me in my ministry.

I must raise $16,285 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses on the field, such as: travel to/from/within countries, food, and lodging, ministry programs, and administrative costs, as well as purchasing required international insurance. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation.

I have enclosed a response card, inviting you to share in this ministry with me. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA, 30374-2570. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation.

If you would prefer to make your donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog site at: alexisstaeb.theworldrace.org. Just click the, “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed.

I am thrilled to experience how God will move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you. I would be honored to go as your representative to bring Christ Jesus to nations around the world. I would like to thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support. Please contact me if you would like more information, have any questions, or are interested in supporting me on the World Race through prayer and/or financial means. I would love to hear from you! May God bless you as you prayerfully consider partnering with me.

                Jubilantly,
