Crossroads Foundation is a non-profit charity based in Hong Kong dedicated to collecting quality excess and second-hand goods within Hong Kong, refurbishing them if necessary, and then distributing them to those in need within Hong Kong and internationally. They believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering; they should do all they can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So they provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together.

The Crossroads foundation, formerly called Crossroads international, is based at the old British garrison base at Perowne Barracks in Hong Kong. The organization has several branches world-wide beyond its primary Hong Kong location, including in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. The staff is all volunteers who raise their own income so that they can live and work at Crossroads.

Crossroads offers four global crossroads services:

Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply.

Global Village: This offers simulated experiences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor.

Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power.

Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public-private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.

Crossroads seeks to serve and support the welfare organizations that are working hard to meet need at the local level. Many such grass-roots organizations lack the funding and international infrastructure they need to do their job. Crossroad’s goal is to help these varies organizations to fulfill their goal.

Many companies and organizations donate to Crossroads such as:
Hotels refurbish and give superseded goods
Hospitals upgrade and give away older equipment
Householders move
Manufacturers dispose of stock over-runs, samples or seconds
Companies move or refurbish
Educational groups upgrade facilities
Community groups conduct relief drives
Other charities, if given more than they need, pass on surplus goods

The standard of the goods donated in Hong Kong is unusually high. Crossroads is humbled and delighted when recipients write to say that they are not used to receiving donated goods of such quality.

Crossroads provides goods to registered organizations working in the following aspects of the welfare spectrum:
Orphans
The elderly
The handicapped
Poverty
Refugees
Disaster victims
Medical need
Educational need

Crossroads was a great organization to be a part of for two weeks in Hong Kong, China…….I'm praying that more people can pour into this organization and support them in a mighty way.
