Hola,

In 2010 I left on a journey called
the World Race that radically transformed my life. I traveled to 12 countries
in 11 months doing various ministries in each country. I returned home eager to
see what God had in store for my days to come.
In August 2011, I returned to El Salvador, one of the countries I had
visited on the Race.  I thought this was
simply an opportunity to visit people I had met and maintain
relationships.  Yet, God had so much more
in store for my time there. I was blessed to see miracle after miracle.

From the moment I  made the decision to return to El Salvador, until
I got on the plane, I had approximately 2 weeks to prepare. I went without a
real plan but this is how some of my favorite experiences came about.  In 2 weeks I received $400 and other
donations (clothes, hygeine supplies).
When I arrived at the airport I placed my luggage on the scale not
knowing if it would be over or not. My bag was exactly 50 pounds (my limit!).  I planned to buy school supplies with the money
I had received but learned the people were more in need of food. So my friends
and I put together 49 bags of food for families that would last them about 2
weeks. The day before we gave out the food, the community came out to meet me,
they said they were grateful not only for the food but also that someone was  thinking of them.  So as we prepared to hand out the bags of food
people lined up. I saw the line get longer and longer and prayed there’d be
enough. As we counted out the people I was thinking, How would I turn people
away. We counted 48…49 I looked around, that was everyone.  God knew exactly how much money to send with
me to provide for exactly the right amount of people who would show up that
day!

So my heart remains restless.
I wouldn’t expect anything  less, when God gave me the opportunity to set
foot in countries all around the world.
My heart was touched by His spirit, His people,  His hope. So as I prepare to return to El
Salvador in February for a 11 day trip I am excited to see what He has in store.
I would truly love your prayers as I prepare to go and go. As I experienced
last time God is percise,  If you feel
led to give it’s greatly appreciated.  I
plan to invest the money into buying food, but am open to God showing me other
areas of need.  I have already filled my
luggage with fabric for a sewing center. So, unfortunately I do not have space
for other donations. I’d love to answer answer any questions you have about the
trip or ministry, you can contact me via: email at [email protected] or by phone 612-702-4438.  I no longer have a fundraising account with The World Race so if you would like to give please contact me directly, thank you. It is Him who transforms
the world, we get to be the hands and feet.
Blessings to all.  Love, Alissa
