Before I left on the race, I loved reading blogs about travel days. I’m not really sure why, maybe just because I liked to see how a big group of people could logistically travel around the world.  So I felt pretty ready for travel days. And then our first travel day was 53 hours long.

We left our hotel in Atlanta at about 11:15 am on Sunday and didn’t get to our ministry site in Albania until about 10:14 pm Tuesday. On Sunday we flew for 8 hours from Atlanta to Amsterdam and then had a 3 hour layover. We then flew for another 3 and a half hours to Istanbul, Turkey. From there we had to take a bus to our final destination…which took about 28 hours. We drove thru Turkey, Greece, Macedonia and then finally Albania. We had a few hiccups along the way, but we finally made it!

And oh wow am I so glad we’re here for the month. I don’t know what you think when you think of what Albania looks like, but it is BEAUTIFUL. I was not expecting this area to be as gorgeous as it is. From our living area we have an awesome view of the mountains, but we’re also just a few miles from the beach.

We are spending the month working at a summer camp in Lezhe, and so far I love it! We basically just get to love on the kids all week and help them with their activities. Our whole squad is here, which just makes the month even better. I truly feel like God is pampering us and romancing us this month by allowing us to be a part of this wonderful ministry in such a beautiful place.
