Oh Hey! It has been a while…but I have exciting news and a cool story to share!
You may or may not remember this from my race but an opportunity opened up as we were wrapping up month 10 in Mongolia. A door swung wide open for me to go to Ireland and spread the gospel. My heart couldn’t have been more excited to come home and spend a few months before embarking on another mission with the Lord in a country that has been on my heart for some time.
What you don’t know is why I didn’t go. A dear friend of mine applied at the same time and we were going together, however I paid my deposit in time and she didn’t so her spot got bumped. When she broke the news to me, immediately without hesitation, I reached out to AIM and told them to give her my spot.
Pretty bummed that I was now not going…I trusted and believed that God would open up another door for me to go one day.
A month or so later, I get word from AIM that someone dropped out and there was a spot open. I reached out to my friend, so excited to tell her that we would get to go together after all, only to find out that she wanted to take this trip now by herself. Though I was bummed to turn down this opportunity again, I wanted to love my friend and serve her knowing that season she was walking in was a difficult one.
A YEAR later…same month…the door opened up yet again and I got accepted to go to Ireland, but with a different ministry this time.
Timing really is perfect, this gave me a year to fully embrace my new home in TN…and I definitely needed that!
God provided the deposit almost immediately confirming this is a go.
I will be working with an organization called Given Ministries (http://www.givenministries.org/#given) We will be doing street evangelism (you know thats my favorite), serving alongside Play Therapist helping children, renovating a counseling center, and running a soccer tournament for the kids.
I am so excited to see what God is going to do, but I need your help! I still need to raise $1,000 to cover the trip and $700 to cover personal expenses. Not a whole lot compared to the WR, but still a need none the less. With our crazy busy schedule in the summer with the students being out of school (Praise God for my new job in ministry), I do not have time to plan fundraisers.
Would you pray about supporting me?
