Haven’t been on WiFi all month, so here’s my feelings going into this month!!
Blog 2-10-18
Three days ago we left Trujillo to come to Pacasmayo for the month! And not any normal month but… ALL SQUAD MONTH (part two!!)!!!! Yes that means that for another month I’ll be living with 40+ ish people!
So we got to Pacasmayo and joined the other all girls team for two days. Then after tons of travel, the rest of our squad arrived from Cusco!!
I’m not gonna lie. I was FREAKING out. Was going to be just like the first month?? Would anyone even be excited to see me? What would ministry look like with everyone there? What would the compound look like?
I just had a bunch of crazy thoughts ruling my mind. I had a huge fear of rejection and tons of doubts for the whole month. I felt so silly giving them time or giving them power through words.
But then month one of Peru came and went (way too fast it felt like..) and bam it was squad month. So time to face those fears!
So we packed up and left Trujillo and headed to Pacasmayo! Then last night Cheree and I went and picked up the whole squad at the bus station and walked them home. And what happened was not what my doubt and fears made me think was going to. Everyone got out and gave hugs and big welcomes! It was so great to see everyone and reunite. Then I realized how great this month is gonna be. There is gonna be so so much more good that comes out than bad. So get the heck out of here bad thoughts!
This month is going to loads different than month one! We have all grown so much and have walked through SO many things!! We aren’t the same people!!
The race is changing each and everyone one of us and such crazy, awesome ways! It’s gonna be so exciting to see how much change happens even in this next month. Plus!! I get 30 ish other people to pour into and talk with!!! I’m pumped!
