We are 6 months into this thing we call the World Race. 6 whole dang months of being on the missions field full time!! Man oh man is it fun but for sure can draining. We get one day a week for adventure and one day a week for sabbath. So it’s cool to find what fills us up so we can be able to hit the week hard with all we got.

Most of the time I end up sleeping in, spending the morning in bed, and doing devotionals. It’s super filling to get into the word and basically stay quiet and to myself the whole day. I’ve found that I enjoy water coloring, cross stitching, music, yoga, and cooking on my days off. But one thing that I’ve neglected was having fun!

I’ve been seeking rest and filling up on that, and don’t get me wrong- it’s awesome and restful and peaceful but! Now that it’s all squad month I’m surrounded by a bunch new friends that are willing to do some stupid silly stuff!

So yesterday was our sabbath and I spent the morning with the Lord, reading and worshiping and it was awesome! Then the afternoon hanging out laughing with friends and making bad jokes haha. Then after dinner a huge group of us decided to walk to the ocean and night swim! I was skeptical about it, I mean chessie constantly bringing up sharks would make anyone nervous?? But once we got then and got in it was- surprisingly- warm and SO fun! The best part was not being able to tell the difference from the dark sky from the water. So every now and then a big ole wave would sneak up and crash over all of us.

We spent two hours in the dark swimming and hanging out and really just enjoying each other’s company. It was an awesome time to get into other people’s space that weren’t on my team. It’s been really fun to get to know the other members on my squad this month. They all have so much to offer and are great to be around.

After being in the water we all hung out on the beach and then walked back to our compound. Then halfway home we saw one of our local friends who owns a tuktuk and he took us the rest of the way home. When we were almost home we ran into another friend who lives on our compound and he tried to run against us in the tuktuk (we won for sure haha).

It was just a night full of good clean fun and loads of laughs!! It was just what I needed to refill. I’m excited for the fun to come this month and all the bad jokes, belly aching laughs, and pranks that this all squad month will bring!!!
