Just last week I was covered in red dirt smiling ear to ear. Why, because training camp, or boot camp as we call it, was changing my life. Let’s back up a little bit. I have the amazing, incredible, unbelievable opportunity to spread the gospel to 11 different countries, thanks to God and my supporters. In order to prepare for this trip, I went to training camp. 10 days in the hot, dirty, Georgia forest. Training camp stretched me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

   I was physically stretched by the exercises we did everyday, and a little 3 mile hike. Just kidding, it was a huge hike, which almost killed me. But I made it through and I’m stronger because of it. Emotionally, the leaders at boot camp helped us to use the tools God’s word gives to unpack our emotional baggage. Over the years you collect a lot emotional baggage, things we have repressed, that we might not even realize just how much we have. I encourage you to unpack your baggage. Give it to God. Stay in his house, he has room for all your stuff.

   Spiritually, I don’t how to describe what I experienced personally with God. When my friends and family ask me how camp was, I find myself racking my brain for words to describe it. Sure I can tell you all the things we did, like sleep under the stars in the middle of the Georgia forest, but that’s just surface stuff. I want to share the deep connection I made with God. The only way I can think to describe it to you is like this: You’re going to meet a friend you’ve know your whole life. Imagine you are going to meet them, for coffee or something.
