6:30am wake up

7:00am squad devotions

7:30am breakfast (usually cereal, fruit, and toast)

8:20am leave for ministry

8:50am arrive and start ministry at Connie Home!!

Our ministry looks a lot like teaching children different school subjects, playing with them, and talking with them about what they would buy at 7/11 or which superhero they would be.

4:30pm head take a songthaew back to the hostel

5:30pm team time which looks like blogging, feedback, worship, or debrief

6:00pm dinner (usually rice or pad Thai)

The rest of the night is spent at the night market, spending time with Jesus, taking a team out for street evangelism and prayer walking.

This past week, we had our first of three debriefs! Debrief this month was so appreciated. We had air conditioning, good food, rest, and a bed (my team had spent this past month and will be spending this next month on our sleeping pads so the beds were so appreciated). The point of debrief is to allow everyone to have time to process what is happening.

A couple of truths I learned at debrief

  • It’s okay to be where I am in my story. I don’t have to explain myself to make me seem like a “better” Christ follower. The Lord fights for me and when I humble myself, He honors that.
  • I have an even bigger heart for worship than I thought. The Lord allowed me to lead worship for my squad by playing guitar and singing. There is something so beautiful about leading people into a place of worship with Jesus and I love being a part of it.
