Hey everyone! I have yet to write a blog during the race, solely on the fact that there is way too much to write about, but here is my best shot. Starting off the world race, I thought my mindset was in the right place. As soon as I got to our beautiful home in Jeffrey’s bay, the Lord wrecked that whole thought process. I realized that I had no idea what my identity is, especially in Christ. The first week was rough. I remained quiet because I just wasn’t doing well with the whole “Christian lifestyle”. After that week, everyone was put into the role of being a camp leader for a Christian organization called UCSA. Me and my friend Emma were both put into leadership roles of 4 high school guys and 4 high school girls, between the ages of 16-19. By the end of our 4-5 day camper experience, I genuinely believe that the Lord used me to impact the men in my group. I was able to share my testimony with them and help guide them on a path to a relationship with God. After that, everything was smooth sailing! Kidding. Once we got back, the men worked on building a house and digging a trench. (The women helped with the trench, and did fantastic) For anyone who knows me knows that manual labor is right up my ally, but still, it wore me out. Toward the end of my time in J-Bay I started building great relationships with our hosts and even team members. They all brought so much wisdom and love and poured into me in a way that I’ve never experienced before. So that’s all for now, but I most definitely have some crazy stories for you all in the future. Stay tuned
