God has a plan.
It is crazy to think about that. That he has been planning mine and your lives since we were born.
Growing up I always thought, “Oh yeah God has a plan… whatever.. whatever.” I never really though that deep into it. The intricate designs of each and every one of our lives. That he looks at us since before we are in the womb and chose us and planned out what we have ahead.
It never really hit me until yesterday that there really IS a plan. Something so beautiful. He takes us, prepares us from the moment we are born, through challenges and triumphs to get us ready for what’s up ahead.
Back in February I wrote my parents a letter based around a story of me back when I was 2,3,4 years old. As I wrote the letter I felt as if God had the pen and the words on the page were not coming from me. As I read it back I see the plan that was prepared for me. The letter went a little like this:
” Throwback to when I was a little little girl, as soon as I learned how to walk every time we went to the beach I’d go running face first into the ocean. No fear. I jumped all in. I was ready to go. You may have been nervous that I was going to drown, that I would float off and never come back, that I would be eaten up in the wide vast ocean of unknown. I know it’s scary, but this is a lot like me jumping into World Race, God’s Kingdom. You may be afraid at first. But God has me, just like you did in front of the ocean. He is there to catch me before I drown, to make sure that I won’t float away, that he is going to protect me in the unknown of World Race just like you all have in the ocean.”
This is crazy to me. As I read this I see God’s plan at work from the moment I could run into the ocean. He made that the start of my race. To see him know me so well to know that I would write a letter to my parents, to see him create a metaphor out of my life, and prepare my parents to lean into him in the fear of the unknown makes me so much more excited for my life ahead.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” -Hebrews 12:1
God has made a plan for each of us. All different. He painted us all as His perfect image.
