Good evening everyone!
I’m praying for y’all this evening. My heart is broken this evening for everyone out there that doesn’t know the love of God. A lot of Christians, myself included, have done an injustice to the non-believers out there. We often claim to love Jesus, which one would think should lead to living a holy lifestyle, but instead we indulge in worldly desires. I’m truly sorry if any of y’all have seen this in me or seen this in any Christians around you. This gives you a distorted view of our loving God.
The truth is this, if you see someone who is not living as you think they should be living, it’s for one of two reasons: 1) they made a mistake or 2) they don’t fully understand the love of our good God. Love always drives obedience.
Here’s the thing, the main reason I say all this is because I want to correct the view that some people have of God. Right now some of you may think there is no God, or there is a god but he is not relational, or there is a god and he is relational but he is really mean and is all about rule following and punishment. All of these are false views of God.
The true God, the only God, my Father, is a relational God. He is love. He is perfect. And yes, He hates sin. But that’s where love comes in. He saw everything that you were going to do in your life in advance, before He ever laid the foundation of the earth. Yet, He still decided to die for you. Any good man will die for another good man, but it takes an incredible loving God to die for people that would turn their back on Him time and time again. God doesn’t want your obedience first then relationship with you, He wants relationship with you first so that He can purify you and enable you to walk in obedience. And the only reason He wants you to walk in obedience is because He loves you. You see, He designed us. He knows our every need, our every desire, and everything that will lead to us being entirely fulfilled for the rest of our life. He gave us commands not so that we’d suffer, but so that we’d thrive and live abundant life. God only wants to take you where life is because He loves you. It’s the devil that tries to mislead you and to kill and destroy the life you could have. I promise you that you’ll live the most fulfilled life possible if you just surrender over to God and accept the love that He poured out for you through the person of Jesus Christ. I can say this with full confidence because the Bible says so, and possibly a more powerful reason is simply by my testimony. Guys I’ve tried the ways of the world. I’ve tried the drugs, the sex, the porn, the alcohol, the money, the fame, the intelligence, the success, etc. everything leaves you empty except the love of Christ.
The only reason I’m rambling on about this and posting it on Facebook and my blog is because I truly do love every single person on this earth and my heart longs to see them thriving instead of just surviving. I want to see people blooming into who they were created to be. God never intended for you to live a life apart from Him. He wants you, He loves you, He died for you, and you matter to Him.
