Helloooo world racers!

My name is Victoria Rogozina and I’m thrilled about this opportunity to go on the world race with you.

I am 26 years old and currently in my second year of teaching 3rd grade in Spokane, WA. I am originally from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. My family and I moved to Spokane as refugees when I was eight years old. Living in the States has truly been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I have really been impacted by such a loving community and the education system here in Spokane. In Kyrgyzstan, we didn’t have an opportunity to attend school, I think that’s why I’m always eager to learn and pass that knowledge to my students.

My mom and dad are amazing people who have taught me perseverance and to always work hard. I am very blessed by their unconditional love. I also have three incredible younger brothers who are my best friends. My brother Alex and his wife just had their first baby boy last month. I’m finally an aunt!! 🙂 I enjoy spending time with my family any chance I get.

Strengths/weaknesses:

I think my strength is in building relationships, especially with children. I love investing time in children and helping them discover that they are each precious, worthy and capable of great things.

My weakness is letting my voice/opinion be heard. I am terrified of confrontation and unable at times to speak up to share my thoughts and opinions. I think a lot of this comes from my culture and how I was raised in a Russian slavic baptist community.

Anytime I have a free moment, I absolutely love to be out in nature! I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, and anything else that has to do with the outdoors. Being outdoors brings me peace and an opportunity to talk to God without any distractions. I have always wanted to go backpacking but haven’t had the chance. I can’t wait to go buy backpacking gear and learn more about it on our journey.

I have been drawn to missions since I was a teen. Anytime someone shares their story from the mission trip, I am completely moved by the holy spirit. I have been on a short mission trip and then a 3 month trip. I am hoping to grow with my relationship with the Lord on this trip, build relationships  and love the people I encounter.

Happy reading! 🙂
