I am getting ready for another good bye. I am shaking my head at Jesus but I guess it is part of the process for this journey. We arrived in Haiti on the 17th and I fell down a few stairs… 5/6 out of a whole flight. I’m okay it just hurt a bit and kind of put me in a vulnerable state. Emotions are fun….not. You know two day travel days and change of weather culture and leaving, I was a hot mess. My teammate Blaire stepped up in nurse mode and cleaned my two cuts and I set off to try and figure out the ATM and sim cards for the team phones. We got picked up and taken to our ministry host. Arriving on campus we were greeted by two of the staff members who were so sweet and honest and they even offered to carry my bag to the room which I shamelessly accepted my leg hurt. But guys they HAVE A ROOFTOP!!!!!! It is just as beautiful and mesmerizing as the ones in Turkey. The people are great and I am loving it here heat and all!!!

Mission of Hope is incredible the list of things they do is so vast that if I was to start I could write pages on all the cool things they do. Just in the last week we have helped with some of them such as planting trees, giving away water filters solar panels and goats. Doing Strategic Village Time which is outreach/evangelism in the villages that also collects demographics of the different areas. Today we helped build a wall.. well we helped transport the materials to build the wall. MOH seeks to empower the residents of Haiti while spreading the gospel and so we helped the construction crew. We also have Haitian translators and village champions that work with local churches on behalf of MOH. One motto I have loved is, why do a job that a local can do and so they do everything from driving us, cooking and , laundry as well as being the moms and dads in the orphanage. They also have a warehouse for the supplies to feed kids and help locals that is 90% Haitian run and a clinic that is 100% local run. IT IS SO COOL!!!!!! Check it out!!!

So as I said above, yet another goodbye is about to happen and before you all get excited, it isn’t me leaving. It is my new friends Tara and Kailey. MOH does two different week schedules. Wed-Wed and Sat-Sat. They leave tomorrow morning and my heart is heavy with this new goodbye. I know they will prolly read this when they get home but guys, they are pretty cool. Tara has been a huge blessing to us this past week and I am really bummed. For Tara and Kailey having been coming to MOH for the last few years. It has been so nice having a mom like figure around this week. It was like God knew what I would be able to handle and between the cultural, emotional and physical pains having them here has been so sweet. They knew the ins and outs and expectations and helped us adapt a little to our new home. I even did yoga… like real yoga it was on the roof and it helped my body heal from the fall. It is hard to see them leave tomorrow.

My team is settling into a rhythm and as we are going deeper I am loving getting to know them more. I am falling in love with Haiti which I knew I would. The people the culture my heart is so happy. I love this. I love traveling. I love meeting new people. I love that the interpreters are locals who speak English and are such fun to be around. I love getting to know the interns and hearing their life stories and about Haiti. I love getting to know why so many people love this great place. Because it truly is great. God is here in Haiti and his people are moving. I also got to go to a Haitian church this past Sunday. It is such a blessing to be a part of it and to see the way MOH stewards its time and resources for the kingdom and to really just see and meet these people. Also the kids are precious it makes me miss my munchkins!!!!!!!!   Love you all so much and thanks for checking in on me!!!! God has such big plans for this month and I promise to do my best to keep up with this blog. But God is providing in the big and little things even in sending us Tara and Kailey for the first week to bring love from the states when I needed it. He knows just what we need and when we need it! ?? I am blessed my friends oh so blessed!!!
