I am going to tell you a little story about this restaurant that I got introduced to in Nepal. So we were staying in a little hostile called “Alobar.” Most of the people that would stay at this hostile were backpackers. Josh, which is one of my best friends on the squad, met this guy named Alex. We asked Alex if he wanted to go to dinner with us, and he said yes. He took us to a place called Vibe. Keia and Tamara, who were on different teams as well, came with us. Once we got there, we saw the prices of the food and Josh and I immediately fell in love with that place. You could get a full meal with a drink for less than $2! Anyways, we got to know Alex a little more than surface level. He said he was doing a little traveling right outside of high school like us. He was from Australia and told us a little bit about his home life and what he was doing.
When we got done with Vibe, he then took us to a live music place where we heard some American music such as “Just the way you are.”

That night was one of the first nights in Nepal and it paved way for the rest of the month.

There was a lot of things I liked about that “hole-in-the-wall” restaurant:
1. It was cheap
2. It had amazing food
3. It helped me connect with different people from around the world to spread Jesus’ name
I couldn’t tell you how many times I went to that place to eat, but I went there for my birthday and it was one of the highlights of my birthday. A lot of people on the squad questioned why Josh and I went there so many times, and they just didn’t understand why it was so important to us. It deepened our relationship as friends, and we probably brought half our squad there at different times of the month.

Nepal was a lot of getting up and going without much rest, but Vibe was a place of rest for me. I have been struggling personally with finding rest physically, emotionally, and spiritually and Vibe gave me rest in all of those areas. So yes, we may have gone there way too many times, but I couldn’t care less because that was a big part of my growth the month of Nepal.
