There has been many times in our lives where an opportunity is put right in front of our face to do something for the Kingdom of God. As I am pondering on the many times I’ve experienced, I have to ask myself two serious questions; How many times have I blatantly said no? How many times have I wanted to say yes but my selfish desires got in the way?

Now, these two questions are one in the same for me. They both mean no. They both mean I am a selfish human being on my own. But, thank you Lordthere are countless second chances we’ve been given to say YES to a Father who loves His children.

Getting into college and adjusting to the life ahead of me, I had no idea what it truly meant to live a life totally surrendered to Christ. My own desires and sin held me back from getting what my heart desired most. A relationship with my Father. Now, I am about to graduate in a few months and looking back on my last 4 (and a half…) years in school I see where a willing heart is really all He wanted to begin with. A willing heart to lay aside Tim LaRue and put on a armor of God that can withstand any blow from the enemy.

The last few months of my life have been such a learning experience. Through tough circumstances the Lord has put a passion on my heart to serve as a World Racer. As I start this summer off with an intership at a homeless shelter, summer classes, and work, I want to be reminded that everywhere I go is an opportunity to show the love of Jesus.

Two of my favorite scriptures I have had the pleasure of reading over and over again lately are Psalm 27:13 and Isaiah 55:8-9.

“I will remain confident in this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

For myself, I have had to learn the hard way these past several months to fully understand that His will is so much greater than my own. I’ve had to put my total trust in Him because only He can push me through all the chaos of life.

Back to that one simple word: yes. What does saying yes to God look like for you? It can be as simple as saying, “Yes, I will love on a total stranger today.” or “Yes, I will give you my life Lord.” Saying yes never looks easy. In fact, it is probably one of the hardest decisions you will ever make in your life yet it is the most rewarding experience you will find on this earth…“yet not my will, but Yours be done.”

Dying to self and saying yes to the Father is a life full of kingdom work. Will you take this journey with me?

For me:

It is saying yes to a year of kingdom building.

It saying yes to being stretched and shaped into the man of God He wants me to be.

It is saying yes to His will and no to mine.

It is saying no to sin and yes to the Word of God.

I’m saying yes to a life of daily surrender to Him.

He is GLORIFIED.

His kingdom is built up when I choose to say yes.

As I start this journey as a World Racer I ask that you fervently pray for me and my team as we each start the process of raising money to fund this trip. I will be launching in January of 2017 so be expecting monthly updates until then to share my journey while I prepare. And as we launch I will also be keeping each one of my supporters up to date of all the wonderful things God has in store for us.

In Christ,

Tim LaRue
