“KINGDOM DREAMS OVER THE AMERICAN DREAM”
This has become a deep, innate push in every big decision I’ve made in the last few years. Honestly, in the mundane of life, this sentence gets kind of lost in my spirit. But the truth is, God is constantly calling us deeper. And with that, I’ve accepted a position at the Adventures in Missions base in Guatemala with an amazing team of people who are deeply rooted long term missionaries who I really love.
I remember leaving Guatemala last fall (after leading for 3 months) and thinking “I’ll be back here someday”. I love how God knows us so well– it took me all year to become satisfied with the idea of moving to Guatemala to be a full time missionary. All year, little thoughts would come in my head of “Why don’t I move?” “Will the opportunity even come up?” “What will I say if it does?”. Then comes August and the base staff, that I worked with prior, calls me with the opportunity to join the team. I feel so blessed, sought out, encouraged, excited, and championed by this process of saying yes to something so drastically life changing. Being in the will of God truly comes with no fear, and complete peace…
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters…” (Psalm 23:2)
“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance” (Psalm 16:6)
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 23:11)
“But, Hannah, what will you actually be doing?” I can hear you asking. Good question! To begin the process, I will be starting a 3 month internship in Guatemala when I raise $4,500 in funds (the goal is by November). I’ll simply be getting acquainted with working on the team with gap year. Afterwards I’ll be back in the states to continue building a team of people to help me monthly in funds and train to be a long term missionary. I will be working alongside a great team of people, leading gap year, and teaching on living a life on mission for the Good News of Jesus. I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m honored to be a missionary at this time in history. Earlier this year, when Billy Graham passed into Heaven, there was a lot of talk of the next wave of missionaries picking up Graham’s mantle of sharing the gospel to the nations. My heart can’t help but swell in excitement and pride when I hear this. Most of all, because I know it’s true. For the last 3 years, I’ve had the privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world, sharing the gospel and loving my neighbors with young people. I simply love it. There’s a lot of fancy words revolving around missions, but I want to keep it incredibly simple. I love getting to build healthy community, pursue rest, and share the Good News with this generation.
We talk about Revival often, but here we are in the midst of a beautiful time in the Kingdom. There’s a wave of young people who are choosing to live like Jesus did, throwing aside worldly possessions and praises of the world for a deep inner story we’re all a part of. I’m wildly confident in this next season of life and being obedient to the call of God.
And I would love for you to join me.
Where do you come in? Now, more than ever, I am depending on the body of Christ to help me share the gospel across the nations. This is our inheritance. This is what God calls us to do. I am simply inviting you into this story with me. First, I need $4,500 to start my internship. Then, everything afterwards involves needing monthly supporters to help keep me funded for years to come on the field. I am beyond thankful to everyone who has gotten me here. Let’s do this!
