My last month on the race will be spent in Durban, South Africa. My team and I are partnering with an organization called, LIV Villages. Their mission is to raise up the next generation of leaders in South Africa. They do this by placing orphans, or vulnerable children into an environment where they receive love, education, spiritual discipline, creative development, care and nurturing. South Africa has growing rates of HIV/AIDS in children and orphans, so LIV is hoping to bring knowledge and influence into these children so they can grow up and create a positive change in this country, continent, and all around the world.
The village consist of 96 different houses to hold children, a school, a church, social work/ counseling offices, creative/art classes, health clinics, sport recreations, and much more. The kids are equipped with everything they could ever need to help them heal externally or internally from wherever they are coming from, and are able to receive a fresh start, in a community where they can experience the love of God first hand.
I have only spent a couple days here in the village, but it is truly such a peaceful place to be. I am already thanking God for giving me such a powerful, and sweet final month on the race. Below I have linked a video where you can see more of what LIV is doing. Take a look, it’s pretty amazing.
